Located in Mani, Greece. The Caves are also known as as The Caves of Vlyhada. It costs about $13 for entry and you’ll want to go early to make sure you get tickets. The caves are a big attraction, they have limited boat trips in a day so if you’d like to go be sure to go there early.
We arrived around 10:30 am and waited about 30 minutes till our number was called. Our guides name was Elias and he had been doing this for about 30 years. The caves are full of stalagmites and stalactites and you have to duck at points when they come very low. As I was the tallest person on the boat, the young girls at the front were kind enough to yell out for me to duck. You have to be sure not to veer left or right or you might tip the boat.
The Caves are millions of years old and at one point we were 250m below the mountains top and there was still 30m of water below us.
After the +20 minute boat ride, they let you off and you walk another 300m before you actually exit the caves. Then about another 1km back to the car. It was definitely a work out but worth the trip!
Totally worth the trek. What a beautiful view.
